Starting again

Decided to blog again after a very long time. Decided most of my previous blogs were too self indulgent and full of self pity.  So where am I today. March 2021 so lockdown has been difficult especially on the mood. Been on and off medication and am now off Amitriptyline and coming off Duloxetine. We'll see how I am after that. My son had to cancel his wedding in March 2020 which was a blow but nothing compared to people dying. Looking forward to easing and getting away on holiday this year so something to look forward to. Off to use a spoon for a shower ie some precious energy. Hoping back pain doesn't increase when I come off Duloxetine we'll see. Bye for now

Mindfulness

Mindfulness in the every day try to live in the present  The best place to start is in daily life, in reality, in the mundane. When you get up in the morning, when you brush your teeth, have your breakfast, take a shower, you can choose to be fully present in that moment. Whatever you are doing in life, whether it’s preparing for your day, sitting at your desk, your mind could be elsewhere, or you can bring your awareness to that present moment. Even in the daily routine of life you can make a conscious choice to develop mindfulness. You say, ‘Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God’ on the in-breath, and ‘Have mercy on me, a sinner’ on the out-breath. I breathe deeply in and out and I say the Jesus prayer…I say that prayer over and over again as I b...

Where do I look when I am in trouble

“I WILL lift up my eyes to the hills [around Jerusalem, to sacred Mount Zion and Mount Moriah]–From whence shall my help come? [Jer. 3:23.] My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip or to be moved; He Who keeps you will not slumber. [I Sam. 2:9; Ps. 127:1; Prov. 3:23, 26; Isa. 27:3.] Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand [the side not carrying a shield]. [Isa. 25:4.] The sun shall not smite you by day, nor the moon by night. [Ps. 91:5; Isa. 49:10; Rev. 7:16.] The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore. [Deut. 28:6; Prov. 2:8; 3:6.]” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭121:1-8‬ ‭AMPC‬‬ http://bible.com/8/psa.121.1-8.ampc
